The Truckers improved to 5-1-1 overall with the 7-0 win.
Will Gehlhausen netted yet another hat trick for Norwalk with three goals. He was followed with a goal each from Nate LaRoche, Gavin Shutt, Jose Ruiz and Cam Shoop. Brian Morales had two assists, with Gehlhausen and Regan Zieber adding one each.
Tyler Clark made five saves at goalkeeper for Norwalk. The backline defense of Zieber, Zach Keefer and Ruiz also helped Norwalk with its fourth straight shutout.
The Truckers host Vermilion at 7 p.m. Monday at the Norwalk Soccer Complex.
Norwalk 10, Brookside 1
NORWALK — The Truckers won their sixth straight and improved to 6-1 on the season with a 10-1 victory over Brookside in a non-league match at the Norwalk Soccer Complex on Saturday.
Freshman Joscey Thomas had her first hat trick of her career with three goals, while Nyah Daniels continued her scoring streak with four goals.
Also for Norwalk, Hannah Steffanni, Gwen Olcott and Quinn Jaworski each added one goal. Grace Albright, Gwen Olcott, Avery Dumbeck and Lana Oglesby were each credited with an assist.
Norwalk travels to Perkins on Wednesday in a key SBC Lake Division match.
Monroeville 3, Edison 0
MONROEVILLE — The Eagles won their eighth straight match of the season with Saturday’s non-league sweep over the visiting Chargers.
Monroeville (8-0) won by scores of 25-21, 26-24 and 25-11.
For the Eagles, Kylee Brooks had 15 kills and two blocks, with Graisyn Yoder adding nine kills, and both Kelsie Palmer and Maura Brown contributing seven kills each.
Lydia Landoll was 17 for 18 serving with a pair of aces, while Braylee Wise was 10 for 10 and Adrian Barman was 11 for 12.
Also for Monroeville, Camryn Hedrick had 40 assists, and Barman led the defense with 21 digs. Yoder and Wise added 15 and 10 digs each, respectively.
Monroeville’s junior varsity team also improved to 8-0 with a three-game win, 25-13, 21-25 and 25-21.
New London 3, Hillsdale 2
NEW LONDON — The Wildcats (1-6) won their first match of the season with Saturday’s five-game win over the Falcons.
New London won by scores of 25-19, 14-25, 21-25, 25-21, 15-1.
Catherine Blaser was 33-of-40 hitting with 12 kills and six blocks to pace the ‘Cats, while Marisa Molnar added six kills. Kaitlyn Ballinger was 33 for 34 serving with 24 points and an ace, and Erin Conrad was 18 for 21 with 11 points.
Ballinger was also 118-of-120 setting with 26 assists and 13 digs. Natalie Ferguson led the defense with 28 digs, with Conrad adding 15 and Erykah Sword had 13.
