Norwalk soccer teams blast visiting Tiffin Columbian

NORWALK — The Norwalk girls soccer team cruised past visiting Tiffin Columbian on Wednesday in an SBC Lake Division match at the Norwalk Soccer Complex.

The Truckers (4-1, 2-0) won by a score of 7-0 to run their Lake Division win streak to 18 in a row.

Sophomore Nyah Daniels led the scoring with a hat trick (three goals), while senior Quinn Jaworski and juniors Gwen Olcott, Avery Dumbeck and Elise Zieber each added one goal.

Norwalk is off until next Wednesday when it hosts to Clyde for another league match.

In the boys match, the Truckers also had no trouble in a 10-0 rout of the Tornadoes. With the win, Norwalk improved to 3-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the Lake.

Brian Morales scored twice in Wednesday’s win for Norwalk. Scoring once included Will Gehlhausen, Regan Zieber, Cam Shoop, Austin Obermeyer, Doug Ortner, Collin Mackall and Matt Luc. 

Assists came from Kyle Harvey, Chaz Smith and Mackall, while Tyler Clark and Kyle Harvey shared the shutout in net.
