Ruth E. Perkins

NORWALK — Ruth E. Perkins, 93, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born to Albert and Mable (Myers) Nickoli, Jan. 24, 1926, in Clarksfield, and was a lifelong area resident. Ruth graduated from Norwalk High School and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk.

Ruth worked for Churchill’s Grocery Store, Norwalk Furniture, delivered papers for the Sandusky Register, and was a short order cook at Berry’s Restaurant for 30 years. She was a life-member of the VFW Post 2743 Women’s Auxiliary in Norwalk, and she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, jigsaw puzzles and puzzle books. She especially loved watching her grandchildren and spending time with them.

Ruth is survived by her children, Dale I. (Jan) Perkins, and Nancy L (Ron) Felter, all of Norwalk; sister, Mary (Harold) Fries of Willard; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Perkins in 1988; son, Robert P. Perkins in 2018; daughter-in-law, Elaine M. Perkins; and siblings, Kenneth Nickoli, Evelyn Nickoli, and Gladys Stierhoff.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, until services at noon, in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Ann Marshall of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be in Meadow Green Cemetery, Huron.
