Philip Merton Colahan

NORWALK — Philip Merton Colahan, 77,  Norwalk, passed away Saturday evening, October 19, 2019 at Gaymont Nursing Center.

He was born June 2, 1942, in Norwalk to H. Merton and Doris (Fox) Colahan. He was a 1960 graduate of Monroeville High School, resided in Milan and moved to Monroeville in 1955, later moving to Norwalk in 2003. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1960-1962. He retired after 30 years with the City of Monroeville as Superintendent of sewage and water. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville and enjoyed playing cards and traveling to Amish country. 

He is survived by his wife to whom he married February 19, 1966, Rae (Maitland) Colahan of Norwalk; sons, Brett C. (Aimee) Colahan of Vermilion and Bartt T. (Caryn) Colahan of Norwalk; grandchildren, Madison, Camryn, Carson, Spencer, Kaitlin, Lilian and Treyton; twin brother, Brian (Doloris) Colahan of Milan and David (Susie) Colahan of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Mark Colahan; and sister, Diane Colahan Henderson.

Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. That will be followed by a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Monroeville.
