This week, Norwalk’s free summer concert series welcomes singers Scott Stiert and Dr. Harry Pepper to the stage.

The area singers and songwriters will be play at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Veterans Memorial Lake Park.

Stiert is a guitarist and vocalist from Milan. Steirt said he is inspired by the styles of such artists as James Taylor, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin and Johnny Cash to straight up blues. He has been on the local music scene for the last decade and was the lead singer and guitarist for the three-piece band Plank Road from 2001 through 2011. Stiert then went on to do his own solo acoustic act.

Pepper said he hopes his music provides an opportunity for the listeners “to explore the deepest essence of yourself and to take another step toward realizing your full potential.”

When the duo perform together, their music ranges from rock to blues and with singer/songwriter pieces in both covers and originals.

Wescott's Arctic Shaved Ice will bring its mobile cart to offer frozen treats to concertgoers.

Families are encouraged to bring their chairs, snacks — or enjoy those offered at the event — as well as outdoor play equipment, such as flying discs or balls.

Classic concert features return, including raffles and snacks.
