HURON — Food trucks fans — or just fans of tacos, corn beef, shaved ice and more — can head to Huron Boat Basin this weekend for its annual Huron Rotary Fine Art & Food Festival.

The festival is 5 to 10 p.m today and 11 a..m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at 330 Main St., Huron.

Five food trucks will be dishing out good eats all weekend — Slyman’s Food Truck, Taco Mike’s, Manna Truck, Off the Griddle, Krav food truck, Heavy G’s and Kona Ice.

The two-day event will feature a beer tent, art vendors, live entertainment, children’s activities, food and more.

“It’s a complete art and food packaged deal,” event organizer Amy Roldan said. “It’s a free event that encourages people to embrace the lake, food and the arts.”

Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase and look at various art works from about 30 vendors.

Paintings will be featured at the festival, along with ceramics, jewelry and metal work, Roldan said.

Entertainment during the festival will be offered at the Huron Boat Basin amphitheater.

Hard Candy will be playing from 7 to 10 p.m. toiday. Three bands will be performing on Saturday, North Coast Concert Band from 2 to 4 p.m., Meg Mischler from 4 to 6 p.m. and Legends of Rock from 7 to 10 p.m.

The festival is really about kicking off the season and getting people to get outside and enjoy a fun event, Roldan said.

‘Nothing is better then being by the water and having fun,” Roldan said. “The festival has a beautiful backdrop of the water and boats. I encourage the community to check out this free event.”
