Be a superhero for a day and don your capes and suits for an action-packed event, the “Super Heroes Family Concert & Instrument Petting Zoo” with the Firelands Symphony Orchestra (FSO) led by Carl Topilow, music director and conductor.

This fun-filled family concert will take place at 4 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center at Norwalk High School.

Come early and from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. children will have a chance to explore a room filled with more than 25 different woodwind, string and percussion instruments. Orchestra musicians and music-teacher volunteers will be on hand to help students experience each of the instruments with interactive, hands-on demonstrations at the FSO Instrument Petting Zoo. There also will be cardboard superhero masks to color with crayons and markers and wear to the concert.

The orchestra will perform all of your child’s favorite songs from “Star Wars” to “Beauty and the Beast,” “Frozen,” “The Incredibles,” “Spider-Man,” “Superman,” “Batman,” “Harry Potter” and more. Let your child dress up in their best superhero costume — you can too — and enjoy the experience of a magical Firelands Symphony Orchestra performance.
