CANTON — A Wadsworth-based production company will debut select episodes of a nation-spanning docuseries at the Canton Palace Theatre on Friday

“On the Trail of Bigfoot” is a six episode, three-hour-long miniseries shot by Northeast Ohio local Seth Breedlove. The series will have a special one-night engagement at the Canton Palace Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday; doors open at 7:30.

The premiere already has garnered much attention on a national scale, with film critic Mike Damante declaring it “the best film ever made about the subject.” The event page on Facebook has more than 700 people claiming an interest. Palace Theatre officials are quoted as saying pre-sales are uncharacteristically high for a Friday-night screening. They are recommending attendees arrive early to get their tickets at the box office if they don’t use the pre-sale option through cantonpalacetheatre.org.

The series’ first scenes begin in Northeast Ohio (Bolivar in Tuscarawas County) before expanding out to states such as Washington, Oregon, California, Oklahoma, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, South Carolina and more.

Ohio’s own Minerva Monster is even spotlighted in episode three of the series; one of the episodes that will be shown at the premiere. Joining Bigfoot investigators, researchers and enthusiasts, Breedlove spent the better part of the year tracking the ongoing search for Sasquatch in some of the most uninhabitable regions of the US. Promising to take viewers “deeper into the Bigfoot subject than they’ve ever gone before,” Breedlove set out to make the ultimate look at an often scoffed-at subject.

The series will debut on streaming platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Vimeo OnDemand and VIDI Space. DVDs are also available through smalltownmonsters.com and will be sold at the premiere, which will be attended by members of the film crew and cast members of the series. An area Bigfoot investigative team that appears in episode six of the series will be on-hand to take questions and Bigfoot himself is even rumored to be making an appearance.

“On the Trail of Bigfoot” was written, shot and directed by Breedlove, who produced the project with his wife, Adrienne. The series is being released through their production company, Small Town Monsters.
