MONROEVILLE — Construction of the new Monroeville Municipal Complex experienced a minor setback Wednesday as rows of blocks were blown loose during the heavy winds.

“There was no significant damage,” said village administrator Tom Gray. “The cause of the event was that the block had recently been laid and the mortar had not had time to harden by the time the winds blew through the complex.”

Gray expects the blocks to be replaced in short order, but “nothing that’s going to delay the delivery of the product.”

There should be no further delays it and it will take about a day to repair the block that came loose, Gray added.

“It’s moving along and we’re still on track for completion next year,” Gray said.

Block and brick began to be laid last week with the installation of below-grade plumbing and electric components. The architectural work is being provided by ADA Architects and civil engineering work is being done by Poggemeyer Design Group, Bowling Green. The general contractor is Studer-Obringer, New Washington.
