Huron County Humane Society (HCHS) representatives will visit each classroom throughout the event with an animal from the shelter. Attending will be all children and teachers, Principal Ken Moore, Ken Ganley representative (they are going to be a matching donor), some HCHS staff and two dogs.
This event is coinciding with a six-week pet study the students just completed.
Jeanette Roth, pre-school intervention specialist, is the school liaison and is heading up the event for the school.
The students will be gathering pennies or change for pets for a four-week period. Classes will compete and winners will be part of a closing assembly (tentatively to be scheduled for Feb. 13).
