Kyle Smith, playing at No. 2 for the Truckers, carded a 79 to lead Norwalk to a four-shot victory over Perkins, 327-331, at Fremont Country Club. Smith finished two strokes behind the meet’s individual medalist, Vermilion’s Brock Fisher.
Carter Kluding finished at 81, Zach Crane shot 84 and No. 6 player Gavin Koelsch turned in a clutch 83 for the Lake champions.
Caleb Sommers fired an 89 and Justin Sommers carded an 98 to round out Norwalk’s six-player squad.
Columbian took third at 358, followed by Vermilion (364), Bellevue (373) and Clyde (384).
“Our players just grinded all day today and accomplished the first goal of every team — to win a league title,” Norwalk coach Wes Douglas said. “We have depth, and it came through again today. Kyle has been our medalist all week and did it again today.
“These guys have been extremely dedicated and earned the right to be called league champions today,” he added. “Our entire program salutes their effort. Our five seniors have left a mark for the next group to strive for.”
For Bellevue, Hudson Strayer shot an 84. Rounding out the scoring for the Redmen: Adam Hosang (98), Alex Martinez (93) and Aaron Brubaker (98).
Meanwhile, Margaretta won the SBC Bay with a 350. The Polar Bears’ Mike Wadsworth was individual medalist with a 77. Huron’s Danny Demos also shot 77.
For Edison (383), Aden Hall shot an 88. He was followed by Noah Pulaski (94), Matthew Pounds (97), Connor Betts (104), Sean Rhodes (130) and Cullen Wilbur (122).
For Willard (384), Trey Mock (89), Dylan Thopmson (94), Ian Brown (97), Micah Dawson (104), Bryce Dials (105) and Cole Weiss (109).
