SANDUSKY — To help local families displaced because of the recent ICE activities, LuLa Roe, a multi- level distributor of women’s clothing, will host a fundraiser to provide assistance to families in need.

During the event, a huge assortment of women’s clothing, merchandise and accessories will be available for purchase. A percentage of the proceeds will be used to provide provisions for these families.

The event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 22 at the Maui Sands Resort & Indoor Waterpark, located on U.S. 250, at the Ohio 2 exit ramp in Sandusky.

“Many families have been uprooted and separated from their parents and children,” said Amy Doughty, who along with husband Rich, are the event coordinators. “We hope the fundraiser will help provide some stability for them.”

During the benefit, the resort’s large dining room will be filled with a variety of fashion styles and accessories. More than 10 vendors and 15 racks of merchandise will be available for purchase. It will also feature handcrafted jewelry, woodworking and crafts.

Nearby, the Lava Lounge will be able to provide alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase, while the Volcano Grill will be open for hungry shoppers. (Admission to the water park is not included.)

“This area has always been very generous to people in need,” Doughty said. “This has been a very difficult time for these families and we hope this event will help.”
