With the Fourth of July holiday over, and slower time periods in major sports such as the NFL, NBA and NHL — the focus shifts to the Major League Baseball All-Star Game festivities, which takes place in downtown Cleveland.
From the Play Ball Park venue, a premier baseball- and softball-themed, family-friendly festival all weekend, to the celebrity softball contest and the Futures Game on Sunday — the action will be heavy from the start.
On Monday, the Home Run Derby and hometown favorite Carlos Santana from the Cleveland Indians will take center stage at Progressive Field.
The five-day stretch will be capped off by the 85th Mid-Summer Classic, which will also feature the Indians' Francisco Lindor and Brad Hand.
Reflector Sports Editor Mark Hazelwood will be on the scene — and would like to hear from you. While he will report on the action on the field, as well as an in-depth look at Santana, Hazelwood is also seeking out locals, or those with a connection to the area who will attend anything All-Star related in Cleveland. Please reach out to him via email ([email protected]), via Twitter (@SRNRHazelwood), or through the Norwalk Reflector Facebook page.
Hazelwood will also post videos to the NR Facebook page throughout the weekend.
