From dog treats to designer purses, Huron County Humane Society's Vine & Dine offered an evening full of donations and dining Saturday at Norwalk Furniture. Celebrating its 10th year, the event included live and silent auctions, bonus raffles and a grand-prize drawing, raising more than $27,000. “The Divots band donated their music, Norwalk Furniture donated their space, and so many generous people donated their gifts,” said Daniel Stober, owner of the Wakeman flower shop Danielion and chairman of the event. “It saves money for the shelter and creates a wonderful opportunity to help the animals.” Pictured enjoying drinks while listening to the Divots are (from left) Kelly Bell, John Evans, Megan Corso, Allison McCurdy and Raven Flanigan. All the money went to the local humane society, which relies solely on private contributions for its needs such as surgical costs, medical supplies and food.
