PORT CLINTON — There was a head-on crash at Ohio 2 and 163 in Port Clinton at about 2:30 p.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Sandusky Register.

The crash occurred on the westbound side of Ohio 2 near the on-ramp from Ohio 163. A witness told Fox 8 a vehicle was going the wrong-way and the truck in front of him swerved to try to avoid it, but they crashed into each other.

State patrol said two medical helicopters were called to the scene to take two people to hospitals. The area was closed as state troopers investigate and motorists are being detoured around the crash scene.
