PRUTSOK - Signs abound that civilization is in peril
I have no empirical evidence to back this up, but it seems like the Norwalk Reflector has reported more violent crime news of late than we typically do. Not only that, but the crimes themselves seem to be increasingly bizarre.

PRUTSOK - Impressive governor will need some luck on his side
I had the good fortune of hearing Ohio Gov. John Kasich speak during the recent Ohio Newspaper Association meeting in Columbus, and I came away a fan, of sorts. The Governor basically "had me at hello," when he noted early in his remarks that it's easy to spot those of Serbian descent (such as he and me) when you are at a crowded event -- "They are always the best-looking people there."
