Norwalk falls to Perkins in state duals tune-up

PERKINS TWP. — Exactly one week ahead of the state dual team tournament, the Norwalk wrestling team traveled to Perkins on Wednesday night to face the host Pirates and Clyde.

The Truckers fell to the more experienced Pirates by a 61-18 score.

Ethan Hernandez won by pin in just 47 seconds over Perkins’ Chris Dillinger at 160 pounds for Norwalk.

Also for Norwalk, Alec Maloney won by pin in 2:40 over Sam McNulty at 195, and Trenton Goostree picked up a win by forfeit at 113 to round out the scoring for the Truckers.

Voting for the seeding and brackets for next week’s regional quarterfinals is being done Wednesday and today.
