By Norwalk Reflector staff • Updated Feb 11, 2019 at 11:05 PM

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Huron County and the surrounding areas that will be in effect from 6 p.m. to midnight.

A wintry mix moves into the area tonight. Precipitation is expected to overspread the area this evening and continue through the night as a warm front lifts north through the area.

In Northwest Ohio, precipitation will start out as a mix and quickly transition to mostly freezing rain through late evening and overnight. Precipitation will transition to all rain Tuesday morning.

Northern Pennsylvania will see mixed precipitation develop late this evening and continue overnight, eventually changing to mainly freezing rain. The freezing rain will linger into Tuesday before changing to all rain.

Accumulations of ice in far Northwest Ohio could be significant and reach a quarter inch.

Total snow accumulationsof up to one inch and ice accumulations of a light glaze expected.

Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
