Wind chills between zero and 7 below

By Norwalk Reflector staff • Jan 25, 2019 at 6:00 AM

Wind chills this morning and again tonight will fall to between zero and 7 below zero.

There is a chance of snow every day through Tuesday.

It will be chilly during that stretch, with highs in the teens and 20s and lows either in the single digits or lower teens.

It will be even colder early next week.

AccuWeather meteorologists are monitoring the potential for a more significant and widespread snow event late this weekend and early next week.

While temperatures are forecast to rebound slightly but remain below normal ahead of this storm, a reinforcing wave of bitter cold will plunge southward in its wake early next week.

In Norwalk, Tuesday night’s projected low is 1 and Wednesday’s high is 6.

“This will be a longer-duration cold blast,” said AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok.

The air with this wave may be even more frigid that what is poised to arrive late this week.

Pastelok anticipates temperatures, on average, to be 10 to 20 degrees below normal across the Midwest through the end of January, leading to increased heating demands.

Water levels on many area rivers continued to rise Thursday as water from rain and snowmelt continue to channel into area rivers. A flood warning was in effect for several northern Ohio rivers, including the Huron River near Milan.

Today, the sun will rise at 7:47:04 a.m. and set at 5:38:46 p.m.

On Saturday, the sun will rise at 7:46:15 a.m. and set at 5:40:00 p.m.
