Enjoy the warm weather while it lasts.

A weekend snowstorm is expected to follow the January thaw that occurred this week.

Today, the temperature will reach the mid 50s. Rain is likely to accompany the warmer weather.

The rain will continue as the temperature drops into the mid 30s tonight.

On Friday morning, the rain will continue, with some freezing rain and sleet before 1 p.m. The early afternoon will see more freezing rain and sleet. Then, the precipitation will turn to snow and sleet after 4 p.m., before finally becoming all snow. The low will fall into the upper teens. It also will be windy, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Several inches of snowfall is possible but the amount of freezing rain, sleet and snow will depend on the exact track of the system. At this point, forecasters are calling from between 4 and 9 inches of accumulation for Huron County.

More snow is forecast for Saturday, when the high will be 17 and the low 5.

Similar weather is forecast for Sunday through at least Wednesday, with highs in the teens and single-digit lows.

Today, the sun will rise at 7:54:51 a.m. and set at 5:22:38 p.m.

On Saturday, the sun will rise at 7:54:31 a.m. and set at 5:23:43 p.m.
