Trio of Norwalk grads earn college Player of Week honors

AUSTINTOWN — Baldwin Wallace University junior and two-time first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference outside hitter Alicia Lortcher, a 2015 Norwalk graduate, has been selected as the OAC Volleyball Player of the Week for the second time her career.

Lortcher led the Yellow Jackets to four three-set victories and to their second straight team championship. She was named to the 19th Annual Marcia French All-Tournament team for the second time in the last three seasons.

Lortcher had 46 of the team’s 152 kills and tallied 34 digs and six service aces.

 

MacFarland earns SSAC honors

MONTGOMERY, ALA. — The Southern States Athletic Conference announced 2017 Norwalk graduate Cara MacFarland of Middle Georgia State was named SSAC volleyball Defender of the Week.

In two matches, MacFarland finished with 43 digs, good for a 6.14 average.

 

Stoll earns PAC tennis Player of the Week

BEAVER FALLS, Penn. — Sara Stoll, a 2014 Norwalk graduate and senior on the Geneva College tennis team, was named the Player of the Week for the Presidents’Athletic Conference.

Stoll went 4-0 last week at second singles and first doubles. She earned perfect marks in second singles with a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins. In doubles, Stoll and teammate Rachael Letterman posted winning scores of 8-1 and 8-3.
