MONROEVILLE — The Eagles gained a Firelands Conference win against the Mounties on Thursday, winning in three sets 25-15, 25-8, 25-4.
Monroeville improved to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the FC.
Kelsie Palmer led Monreoville in serving, going 20 for 21 with 10 aces, while Stacia Stieber was 17-of-18 with four aces and 16 digs. Kara Schafer was 51-of-52 setting with 25 assists. Palmer and Adrian Barman each had nine kills to go with two blocks for Palmer. Kirsten Stieber added seven digs for the Eagles.
In junior varsity action, Monroeville won in two, improving to 6-0, 4-0.
South Central 3, Plymouth 0
GREENWICH — The Trojans improved to 7-1 overall (3-1 FC) with Thursday’s sweep of the Big Red, 25-17, 25-15, 25-18.
For South Central, Izzy Hauler had six kills and Danielle Ott had five kills and two blocks. Jenna West was 14 for 15 serving with four aces, while Sarah Oney was 10 for 12 with four aces and added 18 digs for the Trojans.
Maddie Albert was 88-of-91 setting with 23 assists, and Hauler added 12 digs for South Central, which visits Colonel Crawford on Saturday.
Huron 3, Edison 1
HURON — The Chargers battled back to win the third set, but couldn’t keep any of that same momentum, falling 25-17, 25-18, 20-25, 25-14 to Huron (3-2, 3-1) on Thursday in an SBC Bay division contest.
Jessica Stoll had nine kills and 13 digs to pace the Edison (2-6, 2-1) offense and defense. Kami Neuberger had 15 assists, seven digs and four kills, while Hannah Vitaz chipped in seven kills.
At the service line, Jordyn Mitnik tallied seven points to go with her 11 digs on defense. Brooke Houser had six service points and three aces.
Margaretta 168, Willard 187
CLYDE — The Polar Bears had their four top scorers all shot a 44 or lower as they downed the Crimson Flashes in Thursday’s SBC Bay division dual.
Oliver Thomas’ 40 led the way for Margaretta (6-2), which also got a pair of 42s from Dylan Morris and Carsen Kennedy. Tommy Anderson chipped in a 44.
Alec Gardner carded a 43 to pace Willard. Kolin McKelvey added a 47, while Graham Wiers shot a 48. Mitchell Carnahan, Ian Brown and Micah Dawson each had rounds of 49.
Shelby 179, Bellevue 227
CLYDE — At Sleepy Hollow golf course, the Lady Red fell by 48 strokes to the Whippets.
For Bellevue, Riley Hager shot a 54, followed by Tristan Rupp (56), Isabel Sanchez (57) and Abby Bullion (60).
