MILAN — The Edison High School Drama Club will kick off its 2018-2019 performance year with the production of Woody Allen’s comedy “Don’t Drink the Water” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 through 10.

Tickets can be reserved by calling the Edison Drama Club box office voicemail at 419-499-4652 ext. 1080. They also can be purchased at the door.

“Don’t Drink the Water” tells the story of Axel Magee (Leo Schnellinger), a young man trying to follow in the footsteps of his father (Trevon Lassen), a U.S. ambassador serving behind the Iron Curtain. In his father's absence, Axel tries his best to keep the embassy in order, despite his often foolish mistakes. However, as soon as his father leaves, he once again finds himself in hot water when the Hollanders, a family of American tourists (Allison Pennell, Vernon Kluding and Meredith Holler) seek refuge in the embassy. Instead of clearing their names when confronted by Krojak, the head of the Communists (Hannah Ried), Axel implies the Hollanders are spies, thus leading him on a quest to fix his newest blunder.

While inside the embassy, the Hollanders meet Axels assistants (Sarah Bursley and Maci Conrad), a priest who performs magic (Evan Hoffman), a temperamental chief (Natalie Kwasny-Jackson) and a visiting Sultan (Morgan Otto).
