The show will run from Tuesday through July 29 with curtain time at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for students.
A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, “Little Shop of Horrors” has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”, “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin”) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows ever.
Seymour is a nerdy flower shop clerk with a knack for plants but not much else. However, one peculiar plant he’s tending might just be his ticket to fame, fortune and the girl of his dreams.
There’s only one teeny — but growing — problem: This plant has an unquenchable thirst for blood.
Mixing Motown, B-movies, and The American Dream, “Little Shop of Horrors” is a screamingly funny, gleefully twisted, out-of-this-world hit musical.
The Playhouse will stage this hit musical with plant puppets designed by Martin P. Robinson of the Jim Henson Company, based on the original off-Broadway production designs.
The production stars Chaz May as Seymour, Sydney Leigh Allen as Audrey, Joe York as the voice of Audrey II, Janina Bradshaw as Crystal, Chantel Cumberbatch as Chiffon, Sarah Mullen as Ronnette, Hank Fodor as Mr. Mushnik, and Lukas James Miller as Orin. Directed by artistic director and director of “The Birds,” Nick Hrutkay. Musical direction is by Michael Shirtz and choreography by Pamela Shirtz.
