MONROEVILLE — The sun will come tomorrow … and today and Saturday.

The Monroeville schools drama department will be putting on their spring musical of “Annie,” starting at 7 p.m. today.

The family favorite musical will include many laughs and plenty of familiar songs including “I think I’m going to like it here,” “Tomorrow,” “It’s a hard-knock life,” and “Easy Street.”

“It’s a family friendly show,” said senior Lauren Smith who will play Miss. Hannigan. “There are lots of smiles and happiness.”

“It’s a classic,” said senior Audra Leber who will play Grace Farrell. “I think everyone knows it, whether from when they were little or more recently.”

“Plus who wouldn’t want to see Annie,” said sixth-grader Sophia Yarber who will play Annie.

“I’ve got a lot of musicals for high school,” Smith said. “This is definitely the best one. It’s just so much fun.”

The cast said they spent everyday for the whole month of March working on the play, as well as sometime before that.

The musical will take place at 7 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday. The tickets are on sale for $6 resale, during the school day, and $8 at the door. Doors will open 6:30.
