The Truckers won at first and second singles and first and second doubles against the Pirates.
"It is always a great match between the Pirates and Truckers,’’ Norwalk coach Chris Higgins said. “This year did not disappoint. Anytime you go through a match without any scores of 6-0, 6-1, or 6-2, you know it is close.
’Andrew (Herner) and Dhnaush (Kota) played two sets that were virtual ties. however, Andrew did just enough to claim both sets,’’ the coach added. ’He was especially clutch when he was down 4-5 at the end of the second set and swept the last three games to claim victory. Jacob (Coe) was able to be more consistent than his opponent. Austin (Brown), had a tough time getting anything going in his long two set match. Both doubles teams were pushed tonight. Jacob (Deiderick) and Damon (Mohan), after a slow start again, found ways to keep the ball in play. Bryon (Rowan) and Evan (Hohman) were forced to play the role of comeback kings when they lost the first set narrowly. They were patient in the final two sets leading to a victory."
Norwalk is slated to play at Clyde for a non-league match today.
