Norwalk wins slugfest at Perkins for SBC win

PERKINS TWP. — The Norwalk softball team totaled 23 hits and scored 12 runs in the fourth inning to earn its first SBC Lake Division win of the season.

Alex Nolan went 4 for 4, scored four runs and threw four innings of relief for the Truckers (3-10, 1-3). Elyse Balduff added four hits, including two doubles, and scored four runs and drove in three. Sydney Hunter totaled four hits and scored three runs.

Abby Marchione and Sky Story each hit a home run for the Truckers.

Oak Harbor 7, Willard 1

OAK HARBOR — The Rockets bested Willard in SBC Bay Division action to improve to 9-7, 4-1 on the season.

Dani Epling led Oak Harbor with two hits, including a double, three runs scored and two RBIs.

Also for the Rockets, Kaytlynn Sandwisch was 3 for 3 with two doubles and three runs scored.

Edison 23, Sandusky 0 (5 inn.)

SANDUSKY — Edison routed the Blue Streaks in SBC crossover action.

Leading 6-0 after the second inning, the Chargers plated nine runs in the fourth and eight more in the fifth for the win.

Edison’s Kira Appeman struck out four batters and allowed just three hits in five innings. At the plate, Appeman was 2 for 3 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs.

Oak Harbor 7, Willard 3

OAK HARBOR — The Crimson Flashes fell to 1-11 overall and 1-5 in the SBC Bay Division on Friday.

For Willard, Jake Cok and Ian Brown both finished 2 for 4 with an RBI, while Austin Adelman added two hits and scored a run. Trey Mock also singled, and Shane Durbin added a double and an RBI.

On the mound, Mock pitched six innings. He allowed six earned runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and six walks.

Bellevue 14, Sandusky 2

SANDUSKY — The Redmen improved to 6-5 overall and 2-2 in the Lake Division with Friday’s rout of the Blue Streaks.

Dalton Hay was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, while Philip Putnam was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI to pace Bellevue. On the mound, Putnam threw all five innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
