Here are the running results for tonight’s primary election results. Votes will be updated as numbers are released. Initial results were posted at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8.

 

The city of Bellevue has a 1/2-percent income tax levy for a continuing period of time for the general fund. The precincts include Bellevue 3 and 4.

For: 216 (Huron County), 0 (Erie County) — Total: 216

Against: 146 (Huron County), 2 (Erie County) — Total: 148

 

The village of Milan has a 3.5-mill renewal levy for five years to be used for current expenses.

For: 42 (Huron County), 179 (Erie County) — Total: 221

Against: 14 (Huron County), 70 (Erie County) — Total: 84

 

The city of Norwalk has a 0.65-mill levy for five years for recreational purposes.

For: 1,049

Against: 536

 

Edison Local Schools has a 7.2-mill substitute levy for a continuing period of time, which provides for “the necessary requirements of the school board.” The precincts include: Norwalk 1A and 1B, Norwalk Milan township; and Norwalk Milan village.

For: 123 (Huron County), 788 (Erie County) — Total: 911

Against: 83 (Huron County), 776 (Erie County) — Total: 859

 

Monroeville Local Schools has 1.8-mill replacement levy for five years to be used for permanent improvements. The precincts include: Norwalk 4C, Bronson Township No. 2, Lyme, Peru, Ridgefield and Sherman townships, Norwalk Township (north and south) and Monroeville village.

For: 281 (Huron County), 2 (Erie County) — Total: 283

Against: 408 (Huron County), 1 (Erie County) — Total: 409

 

Willard City Schools has a 1.25-percent earned-income tax levy for a continuing period of time for current expenses. The precincts include: Willard 1, 2, 3, 4; and Greenfield, New Haven, Norwich and Richmond townships.

For: 461

Against: 1,294

 

On the state level is Issue 1, which would create “a bipartisan, public process for drawing congressional districts.” The heads of the Huron County Democratic and Republican parties have said this would create fair representation and a “yes” vote would support this initiative. This is a jurisdiction-wide issue.

The candidate races will not be decided until November.
