He was born Sept. 28, 2019, in Lorain, and raised in Norwalk. He was a 1976 graduate of Norwalk High School. After high school Bob went to live at New Avenues to Independence in Cleveland. New Avenues is an organization that for over 65 years has provided opportunities for people with disabilities and special needs to become more independent and productive members of society. The family wishes to thank all the current and past staff members at New Avenues for the tremendous support he received over the 45 years he was with New Avenues.
Bob was a big sports fan; especially the Indians, Browns and Cavaliers. He loved visiting Linwood Park in Vermilion, and enjoyed spending time with family, including nieces and nephews Erika (Jim), Allison (Zach), Thad, Craig, Jennifer (Josh “the Dude”) and Jessica (Mark), many grand- nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Big Bob.”
He is survived by his brothers, William (Kathy) Dreyer of Stuart, Fla., and Richard (Vicki) Dreyer of Powell, Ohio.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances (Crow) Dreyer.
A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Friday. Oct. 25, at New Avenues to Independence.
