Glen Harold McVeigh

NORWALK — Glen Harold McVeigh, 71, of Norwalk, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at the Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk after a sudden illness.

He was born on June 3, 1948, in Elyria and has lived in Norwalk for the past 20 years, moving from North Ridgeville.

Glen is a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Post 41 in Norwalk. He worked as a mechanic for the City of North Ridgeville for many years.

Glen was always very helpful to all his friends and family and could be counted on whether to fix their car or give them a ride if needed. He enjoyed working on cars, tinkering around the house and fishing, but nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy (nee Moore); sons, Timothy (Donna Hauser) Moore of Grafton and David (Theresa) McVeigh of Bucyrus; daughter, Deborah Price of Norwalk; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen McVeigh of North Ridgeville; brother, Gary (June) McVeigh of Cleveland; and many nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lillian (nee Starkey) McVeigh; father and mother-in-law, Ivan and Mary Moore; brother-in-law, Don Moore; and nephew, Eric Dossa.

Funeral services take place 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from noon until time of service. The Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate.

Interment with Military Honors will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
