Deborah Lynn Henry (nee Green)

NORWALK — Deborah Lynn Henry (nee Green), 62, of Norwalk, died Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Bellevue Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Debbie was born February 11, 1957 in Sandusky and grew up in Birmingham. She graduated from Firelands High School in 1975 and attended Oberlin College, before settling in Norwalk for the past 27 years.

She loved spending time with her friends and family. She also reaped much joy from her worship as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Despite physical limitations, Debbie gave her all in her ministry, sharing her faith in the hope the Bible holds out for the future. Attending the Spanish-speaking congregation in Norwalk, she even traveled to Texas and Mexico to teach the Bible’s message to others. She also loved being in the outdoors and animals, especially cats and elephants.

She is survived by her father, James Green of Vermilion; daughters, Faith (Tom) Krick of Vermilion and Tabitha (John) Myers of Bellevue; sisters, Christine (Dan Bellis ) Smith of Vermilion and Sarah "Sally" (Harvey Mann) Green of Birmingham; and her grandson, Jacob Myers.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Arlynn 'Lynn" (nee Shephard) Green; sister, Sherry Green; granddaughter, Lily Myers; infant sister, Carrie Green; and brother-in-law, John "Bubba" Smith.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 4:00 pm until the time of a memorial service at 7:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Elder James Bartow will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Birmingham Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to World Wide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses; Stein Hospice; or Huron County Humane Society.
