COLLINS — James E. Wobser, 89, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 6, 1929 in Venice, Ohio to the late Edith R. (Lorcher) and Fred Wobser. He graduated from Milan High School, Milan, Ohio, and served his country in the Army in 1951 during the Korean war. James worked as an iron worker for many years and retired in 1991 from Local 17 out of Cleveland, Ohio. James enjoyed farming, buying and selling equipment, traveling to Missouri, playing cards, scratching lottery tickets, and reading, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his grandson, whom he raised, James E. (Denise) White of Collins, Ohio, by his children, Penny A. (Bob) Bechstein of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Donald J. (Willametta “Janey”) Wobser of Collins, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Scott (Renee) White of Norwalk, Ohio, Michael (McKenzie) Wobser of Wakeman, Ohio and Lisa (Tom) Smith of Fostoria, Ohio. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, who he adored and loved very much; Morgan “Mugsy” White, Justine White, and Jordan Massie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary A, (Sanders) Wobser in 2010, and by his siblings, Dean, Fred, Bob, and Ruth Ann.

There will be no visitation, and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Collins Cemetery, Collins, Ohio. His family would like to thank all of their friends for all of their support, and a special thank you to Stein Hospice for all of their help.
