NORWALK — Alma L Chaffee, 81, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2019 at Gaymont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwalk.

She was born on December 21, 1937 in Greenwich, to the late Algerine and Belle (nee Maynard) Anderson.

Alma enjoyed playing bridge with her card club “Hearts and Hugs”, spending time with her family and friends, a warm campfire, and life in general. She was a volunteer for many local organizations including, Fisher Titus Medical Center Gift Shop for nearly 30 years, the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, Firelands Senior Center, and the Habitat for Humanity Firelands Chapter, for many, many years. Alma was also a member of the Norwalk Eagles.

She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Raymond Chaffee; son, David (Lori) Chaffee; daughter, Marlene (Tyler) Hill; grandchildren, Douglas (Sarah) Chaffee, Ashley (Brandon) Christian and Kyle Orshoski and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Beth Angel; brother, Arthur Anderson and sisters, Joanna Hartrum, Audrey Dornan and Dolores Blunk.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 beginning at 10 am until the time of the 11 am service at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home at 98 W Main St, Norwalk, OH 44857.
