Elizabeth "Betty" Laverne Ducsay (nee Gottfried)

MILAN — Elizabeth "Betty" Laverne Ducsay (nee Gottfried). She said, “Don’t feel sad, I had a great life.” Passed away peacefully on April 22, 2019 at the age of 96.

Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Gottfried, her sister Ann Brown, and her brother Walter Leitch. Her husband and the love of her life, Edward Ducsay, whom she married on May 4, 1946 passed in 2006.

Betty is survived by her two children, Dawn Renee Gorman, nee Ducsay (Patrick) and Douglas Edward Ducsay (Louise). Her four grandchildren, Nichole Fach (Erin), Courtney Roberts (Michael), Danielle Ducsay, and Johnathan Ducsay (Elizabeth), and, her five great-grandsons “GG’s boys”, who she completely adored and who equally adored her, Owen Fach, Mason Fach, Tiegan Roberts, Shamus Roberts, and Griffin Roberts.

Betty was a John Adams High School graduate, lifetime member of Norwalk VFW Auxiliary, and retired banker with The Erie County Bank. She began her married life in Cleveland and took her family from Ohio to California and back to Ohio. She lived in Milan, and Rocky River with Ed. She was always eager to talk with anyone she met; displaying a warm and welcoming personality. She was loved fiercely and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Service will be held in the McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home of Westlake 25620 Center Ridge Road (west of Columbia) Tuesday, April 30 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Milan Cemetery in Milan, OH. Friends may call in the Funeral Home Monday April 29, from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions be made to City Mission of Cleveland 5310 Carnegie Ave. Cleveland, OH 44103, or Rocky River Presbyterian 21750 Detroit RD Rocky River, OH 44116.
