He was born May 26, 1941 in Willard, the son of the late Frank and LuEllen (Bauer) Channing.
He was a hardworking, dedicated owner-operator for 50 years, traveling 6.8 million safe miles. Richard’s love for his family always came first. He was a jack-of-all-trades: a builder, fixer, gardener, fisherman, friend, and servant of God.
Richard is survived by his wife, Diane (Kessler) Channing, whom he married July 26, 1991 in Upper Sandusky; special grand-daughter, Alana Fox; sons; daughters; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister; an aunt and uncle.
Richard is preceded in death by a son; brother; aunts; uncles, and many special friends.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Caramel United Methodist Church, 4997 County Road 183 Clyde, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Richard’s family for funeral expenses.
