Josephine Chaffee Leber

NORWALK — Josephine Chaffee Leber, age 96, of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday evening, October 10, 2018 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

She was born February 11, 1922 in Wayland, KY to the late Thomas and Doris (Fraley) Collins. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a press operator at Clevite, retiring in 1990. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Eagles Aerie 711 ladies auxiliary and the Bellevue Moose Lodge.

She is survived by her husband, James Leber of Norwalk; children, Betty Keller of Sandusky, Juanita (Frank) Huss of Twinsburg, James (Sharon) Duskin of Clyde, Roy (Kathleen) Duskin of Norwalk and Kenneth Chaffee of Vermilion; brother, Edgil (Beatrice) Collins of Fremont; son-in-law, Herman Young; sister-in-law, Bernadine Collins; 24 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Young in 2013; siblings, Frances Bevier and Noah Collins; grandchildren, Jeffery Black, Jeanette, Donald and Rod Davis, and Darryl Young.

Friends may call on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Tuesday in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
