NORWALK — William H. Rogers, 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, in Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, Ohio.

He was born on May 4, 1934 to the late Wade and Rose (Carino) Rogers in Wellington, Ohio. Bill graduated from Wellington High School and moved to Norwalk in 1956, he served in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 1959, where he spent one year in France and two years in the National Guard.

He was hired by Henry and Stanley Pohl in 1956, and in 1978, he purchased the long standing clothing store on East Main St. in Norwalk, Ohio. In 1996, the store closed and Bill retired. The location where the store stood, is now known as Pohls’ Park.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Linda (Kevin) Nickoli, of Norwalk, Ohio, Joni (John) Blystone, of North Fairfield, Ohio, 3 step-daughters, Bobbie Reeves (Jim) Seagle, of Norwalk, Ohio, Becky (Chuck) Carpenter, of Norwalk, Ohio and Beth Schaenegge, of Powell, Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his brother, Dan Springer, of Loveland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 42 years, Jean Rogers, and his granddaughter, Jennifer Blystone in 2017.

There will be no visitation and no services, at Bill’s request. Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
