She was born on August 6, 1932 in Banner, Kentucky to the late Sam and Ocie (Hall) Cook. Mrs. Sparkman was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, crafts, baking, and spending time with family. A good woman received her wings on Wednesday. There was always room for one more at the dinner table, as Ruby never knew a stranger, and her door was always open to all.
She is survived by three sons, Sam Deskins of Shiloh, Johnie (Cheryl) Deskins of Shiloh, and Roger Deskins of Portsmouth; two daughters, Rose (Ed) Mullins of Mansfield, and Lisa (Rose) McGlothlin of Fitchville; 22 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Cook of Norwalk; and a sister, Velma Meade of Georgetown, KY.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Sparkman; two sons, De-Wayne Sparkman and Ernie Deskins, a daughter, Juanita Oney; two granddaughters, Zannetta and Shawna Deskins; a great-great granddaughter, Aubrey Hout; and three brothers, Travis, Vannis and Dallas Cook.
Visitation will be held at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dan Clouse and Pastor David Montgomery officiating.
