She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a former Girl Scout Leader. Rose was an avid reader and she enjoyed knitting caps for the birthing units of hospitals in Norwalk and Mount Vernon. Rose took great pride in her flower and vegetables gardens and she was very knowledgeable on the history of Mount Vernon.
Rose is survived by her daughters; Judy (Tom) Cesa of Norwalk and Jane (Philip) Stewart of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Gregory (Mary Rose) Edwards, Jennifer (Dan) Niese, Thaddeus Eckenroad and Amanda (Chuck Boike) Eckenroad; four great grandchildren, Kaily VanVlerah, Taylor Niese, Riley Edwards and Brendan Edwards; a sister, Georgeann (Bob) Farinacci Alexander and special friend, Jessie Hanna.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle R. Foss; two great grandsons, Moey VanVlerah and Tyler Niese; a brother, Rex Morris and a sister, Mary Lou Wininger.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, 303 S. Edgewood Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Bill Barton will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
