He was born December 7, 1929 in Wyandotte, MI to the late Liva Harrison Penson and Maxine (LaFrance) Penson. He served in the United States National Guard for over three years, and retired after 26 years as a truck driver at Norwalk Furniture. He enjoyed collecting trains and was a member of the Norwalk Train Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Betty J. (Resor) Penson of Norwalk; children, Maxine (Ladd) Ptak of Warren, IN, Mary Sue Carpenter of Elyria, Donna (Jim) Brady of Wichita, KS, Ann (Ron) Green of Elyria, Delores (Dennis) Telzerow of Wellington, Michael Penson of Lorain, Theresa (Marvin) White of Sumpter, SC and Philip (Aimee) Penson of Norwalk; grandchildren, Krist, Trent, Angie, Jamie, April, Lenny, Victoria, Harry, Jonathan, Marie, Tory, Kellie, Scott, Jeremiah, Becky, Brian, Grant, Tyler, Kaylee, Adrian and Shelby; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Cote of Newark, OH; nieces, Debbie Pasquale and Linda Cote; and nephew, Rich Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Dominic J. Penson Jr. and Marcus A. White; great-grandson, Shane Brown; sister, Phyllis Martin; and brothers-in-law, Richard Martin and Maurice Cote.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Meadow Green Memorial Park Chapel in Huron with military honors. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
