HURON — "The Friars", an a cappella boy band from the University of Michigan, will be performing at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at the McCormick School Theater, the site of the Huron Playhouse. Towne & Country Players will be hosting the event.

Before Indiana University birthed "Straight no chaser" the U of M singing sensation was already touring and giving concerts from the White house in Washington, D.C. to the corner White Castle hamburger joint in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Formed in 1955 out of the Men’s Glee Club, these nine young ambassadors represent U of M's Music Department which is in the top five in the nation. Their play list includes Motown, pop, patriotic, traditional hits like "My Cherie Amour," "Buckeye Girl" and a multitude of familiar music suitable for all ages. They bring to the stage dancing, singing and an atmosphere reminiscent of the "good old college days."

Tickets for the event are $15 in advance or at the door. All seating is reserved and V.I.P. seating is available. Sponsorships begin at $45 which include a program listing as well as two V.I.P. seats. Reservations can be made by calling 419-668-0637.

T&C is in its 51st Season of clean, family, educational musical events. Volunteers are needed and welcomed for publicity and ushering purposes. Anyone 18 or older can call the Box Office to inquire at 419-668-0637. Recently the Attorney General of Ohio continued its recognition of T&C as a non-profit Educational-Charitable Organization. T&C is privileged to have this designation and the opportunity to bring wonderful programs to the five-county area.
