Rep. Jordan among speakers at men's breakfast in New London

NEW LONDON — A congressman, mayor and law enforcement officers were among those who gathered Sunday at an area church to discuss problems in today’s society.

The New London Alliance Church, at 4625 Ohio 162, hosted a breakfast seminar for area men centering around the theme “Faith, Family and Freedom.”

Speakers for the event included U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Urbana), Huron County Sheriff Todd Corbin, Ashland County Jail Administrator Capt. Dave Blake and Pastor Doug Lang.

The coordinator for the seminar was Buddy Workman, head deacon for the church. He said almost 150 attended and heard talks about the problems in society, values and morals and the responsibilities given to men as fathers and husbands.

“It was a great day and our plans are to make this the first of more to come,” Workman added.

Other guests included Ashland County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Carl Richert and Norwalk Mayor Rob Duncan.
