Ralston demonstrated how to assemble lovely handcrafted Christmas Cards for members to take home, making a most enjoyable project for the evening.
At the business meeting which followed, members were commended for another very successful Make and Bake Auction in October. Many handmade crafts and food items were auctioned for the annual fundraiser.
Officers were elected for 2019: president Kathy Veith; vice-president Nicole Skinn; secretary Reta Stark; treasurer, Sharlene White; and librarian Donna Pittenger.
A committee decorated the Norwalk Public Library's main reading room in time for the Uptown Norwalk Tree lighting. The tree and accessories will remain up through the Christmas season. The ornaments are all hand made by the garden club.
Fall-themed refreshments were served by Ralston, Skinn and Pittenger.
The December meeting was held at Corso's Flower & Garden Center in Sandusky. The women made a Christmas centerpiece with fresh evergreens and decorated with ornaments of their choice.
Members then had dinner and a short business meeting at Chet & Matt's Pizza.
The club is participating in Garden Club of Ohio's Feed America program and are keeping track of the total pounds donated to local food banks or food pantries. Town and Country has donated the most total pounds in the Mansfield district to date in the program.
There will be no meeting in January as the club takes its winter break. February will be the annual dinner at Ralston’s home and will include the installation of officers for 2019.
