Hometown Holidays filled with fun activities

NEW LONDON — The 15th annual Hometown Holidays was a big success and started off with the parade, which was followed by a festive day filled with activities.

Shoppers visited local merchants and businesses as well as vendors at both Santa’s Stop and the Hileman Building. Hundreds of children posed with Mickie, Minnie, Belle and Chase of Paw Patrol and later in the day took in the Jungle Terry Show.

The New London Community Club, this year with support from Fisher-Titus Health, organizes this annual event that takes place the first Saturday of December. Its purpose is to bring people of all ages into the village to visit, shop and kick off the holiday season. Organizers said the event would not be possible without the help of the police and fire departments, ambulance service and all the other volunteers who pitch in to make the day successful.

Hometown Holidays takes a year to plan and a meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9 at the Wildcat Connections Café for club members and anyone else interested in helping with the event.
