The New London Reservoir Park and Campground hosts Rockin’ the Rez on July 14, which will be a day filled with music, food and fireworks.
Bands will start at 2 p.m. and include Rachel & the Papas, The Westies, Mid Life Crisis and E5C4P3.
The fireworks display will begin at 10:30 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults, $2 for those 4-17 and free for those under 4.
The recreation park will be the site of the 23rd annual F.A.R.M. (Firelands Area Restorers of Machines) Tractor Show on July 28 and 29. This year’s show will feature International Harvester tractors and equipment and Cub Cadet and hit-and-miss engines. Admission is by donation.
In addition, both parks offer camping, playgrounds, picnic tables and shelters. The reservoir is the place to go for swimming, fishing, boating and enjoying the sun and the new putt-putt course will be completed soon. The New London Public Library summer reading program, “Libraries Rock!,” continues with programs for all ages, crafts and many other activities. On July 14, the program will end with outdoor games and ice cream at 4:30 p.m.
The New London Quilt Guild presents a program on how batiks are made at 10 a.m. July 28 at the Alliance Church. Batiks are fabrics dyed using a wax-resistant process. Admission is free, but call 419-681-2295 to RSVP.
