To be named a Paul Harris Fellow, a Rotarian must contribute $1,000 or more to Rotary International to be used for programs such as polio eradication. Wilson began donating before his death and the club completed the fellowship in his honor.
Wilson, a New London High School and Ohio State graduate, joined the local Rotary in 1983 and served as club president in 1990-1991. He also led the club’s annual charity fishing tournament for many years.
The Terry Wilson Memorial Deck was constructed at the New London Reservoir as a joint Rotary/Community Improvement Corp. project. A super raffle is scheduled for Feb. 17, sponsored by the two clubs and Friends of the NL Parks, and the proceeds will be split between the deck and other park projects.
Prizes include golf and fishing packages, a flat-screen TV, a Kalahari getaway, a Vegas trip for two and more. Tickets are $10 each and six for $50 and are available at the Gas Depot, Gilbert’s Hardware and many other businesses around the community.
