The 2018 class marks 17 years of inducting significant graduates and educators into one of Bellevue school district’s most prestigious honors.
This year’s inductees are:
U.S. Navy Commander Lloyd Adams: Graduate U.S. Naval Academy, M.S. Naval post-graduate school. Served in Vietnam and awarded the Bronze Star with the Combat V. Executive officer of the U.S.S. Rogers and served as the head of Naval ROTC Selection Board.
Former Mayor Phyllis Robertson (deceased): Executive secretary, General Electric (Bellevue), first woman Bellevue city councilperson, first woman Bellevue mayor, first woman in the state of Ohio appointed by Gov. James Rhodes cabinet level Civil Service Commission.
Joe Dysard II: Bachelor of arts from Antioch College, Yellow Springs. National expert in water and wastewater industry; expert witness for rate setting adjudications. Project manager for San Diego, Calif., and Tampa, Fla., water treatment plants.
Dr. Edward Lepley (deceased): Oho State University, doctorate of veterinary medicine. Served in U.S. Army. Practiced medicine in Denmark and England. Set up poultry research facility for the Spanish government. Opened two animal hospitals in Michigan.
A ceremony will be held in the Regula Learning Center of the Bellevue High School to induct the 2018 class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17.
The public is invited to attend. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts and punch will be served. In addition to the public, inductees and/or their families will be present to receive plaques of recognition and to make brief comments. During halftime of the varsity basketball game that evening, all four of the inductees will be introduced.
