United Fund at 55 percent of campaign goal

The Norwalk Area United Fund is at 55 percent of its 2018 campaign goal of $390,000 less than one month into the new year.

The most recent number stood at $214,606.71.

The United Fund has reached its goal of $360,000 in each of the last four years.

The money raised helps fund 30 to 35 local programs and grants. 

If you haven’t given your tax-deductible gift yet, you can do it from home, at work or send your donation to: 2 E. Seminary St., Norwalk, Ohio 44857.

If you shop on Amazon and would like to donate in a simple, automatic way, you can go to smile.amazon.com and add the Norwalk Area United Fund as your organization.

The United Fund wrapped up 2017 with its annual basic basics program, packing 82 bags for 223 individuals. Going on now is a winter sweater drive. You can drop off gently used sweaters at the United Fund office through February. All sweaters stay local.

Also going on in the Dine out for the FUNd of it. A portion of the day’s sales from participating restaurants will go to the United Fund.

• Feb. 28 — East of Chicago Pizza, Norwalk.

• March 7 — Cameo at the Creek.

• March 14 — Norwalk Eagles (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

• March 21 — Jimmy’s Backyard BBQ.

• March 28 — Bret Pot Café, Wakeman.

• April 4 — Marco’s Pizza.

• April 11 — Freight House.

• April 18 — East of Chicago Pizza, Norwalk.

• April 25 — Bluto’s.
