I am writing this letter to personally thank the group of people that cleaned up Baby Land at Woodlawn Cemetery on Saturday, May 26.
I could not believe how overgrown and unkept that part of our cemetery was.
To me that is the saddest part of our cemetery because all of those grave sites are infants and children.
I suppose if you have never needed to put a precious child there it is not important to most people.
I have been visiting our baby granddaughter there for 19 years and I have never seen it looking like it did.
I am sure Rev. Garcia would not have been happy.
If the regular caretakers do not have time to care for it as it should be, I am sure any number of community organizations would help out.
I hope the next time I visit there I will see it well kept and cleaned up.
Again, I applaud the people that came out in 90-degree plus weather to take care of this very special part of our cemetery. We should not need to search through overgrown grass and weeds to find the resting place of our little angels.
