Don't shop for your pets

EDITOR’S NOTE: Marilyn Evenson of Vermilion submitted this letter to the editor:

An easy solution to the problem of online puppy scams is to "adopt, don't shop.”

Go to the Huron County Humane Society or the Huron County dog pound. You will save a pet from being homeless and unloved and possibly from euthanasia even tho most shelters try not to put down their animals. Every time a person chooses to buy rather than adopt, a shelter dog or cat dies. Often, online puppies come from puppy mills where dogs suffer every day of their lives never knowing a loving lap, good food, or a warm bed.

Please do not support online shopping for dogs. They will take your money and you will never get a dog. It's a scam.
